Marc Webb Confirmed To Direct THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

After quite a lengthy debate, it has finally been confirmed that Marc Webb will return to helm The Amazing Spider-Man 2, along with Andrew Garfield returning in the title role. There had been quite a lot of rumours about Sony execs cutting ‘The Untold Story’ out of the movie, pissing off Webb so much that there was question over whether he would be back. Those rumours turned out true, and then it was revealed that Marc may be obligated to make another film for Fox Searchlight as part of his contract before TASM2, and he wouldn’t have time to make that and still be able to make the Spidey sequel for it’s May 2014 release date.

Fortunately, Variety confirmed yesterday that he’ll be back, and that Emma Stone is ‘in talks’ to return as Gwen Stacy. I’m incredibly pleased, as there was absolutely nothing wrong with Webb’s direction and he did a great job. The reason I gave it a ‘meh’ rating is because of Sony and they’re crappy control and editing of the film. It was also revealed that Jeff Pinkner will be working on the script, along with Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci. Are you happy with this news? Share your thoughts below.
