Kevin Fiege Talks Robert Downey Jr’s Role In The Future Of The MCU

Speaking to Badass Digest, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Fiege spoke out on a potential problem that involves Robert Downey Jr’s future as Tony Stark and other actors roles. That problem is the fact that Downey is now 47, and when Iron Man 3 hits he would have appeared in four Marvel movies and when The Avengers 2 is released he’ll be around 50. It was already noticable in The Avengers that he was getting on a bit and there were grey streaks in his hair. But what will Marvel do when Downey wants to move on from Iron Man and their most profitable character and golden boy will be out of their reach?

I think Bond is a good example. Let’s put it this way: I hope Downey makes a lot of movies for us as Stark. If and when he doesn’t, and I’m still here making these movies, we don’t take him to Afghanistan and have him wounded again. I think we James Bond it.
