Good luck Warner Bros. You’re going to need it. The LA Times is reporting that the studio are keen to get their own superhero team-up movie rolling in front of the cameras soon, and the site reveal that they are targeting a Summer 2015 release date for Justice League. There’s only one problem: Marvel releases The Avengers 2 on May 1 of that year. Loyal readers, prepare yourselves, because if you thought The Dark Knight Rises VS The Avengers this year was bad, wait until you see what’s going down in 2015!
There aren’t any plot details as of yet, but they go on to say that Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and The Flash will all be on the team, and WB are hoping to start filming next year. This news comes after it was revealed that Warner Bros won the Superman lawsuit case, allowing them to get to work on Justice League. Additionally, they confirm a rumour that’s been floating around for a while regarding how DC will set up their own cinematic universe – after the movie each hero will spin off into their own respective franchise, and yes, the plan is for Henry Cavill to reprise his role as Superman.
There’s good news and bad news to this. The good news is: we’re getting a Justice League movie! The bad news: it will be the worst fanboy war in history, and WB may be stupid enough to give it a Dark Knight Rises-ish release date, near The Avengers 2. In my opinion, this is a perfect Winter movie.
What do you think of this news? Are you happy that we’re getting Justice League, but so soon? Share your thoughts below.
