Joseph Gordon-Levitt In The Mix For Star-Lord In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY!

Bet you never thought you’d read that headline. Marvel is continuing the search for the actor to play the lead role of Peter Quill/Star-Lord in their upcoming sci-fi epic, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the studio have settled their gaze on another young A-list actor: Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The actor first gained recognition for his role in the incredible (500 Days of Summer), and went on to star in Inception. However the character that makes him most well-known to comic geeks is John Blake aka the new Batman in The Dark Knight Rises. Previously there were rumours floating that Levitt would reprise his role as Blake in Justice League and make a cameo in Man of Steel, but if the actor ends up screen-testing for Star-Lord and Marvel love it, Warner Bros might have to change their plans.

Zachary Levi (Thor: The Dark World) and Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas) were recently linked to the role, despite Levi already playing Fandral in the Thor sequel, but in their report Variety stated that an “unknown third actor” may be tested after the holidays. Perhaps they were talking about Levitt?

If Levitt gets chosen for Guardians of the Galaxy, it wouldn’t be the first time an actor has double dipped in the two different universes. Ryan Reynolds played Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and then the title role in Green Lantern, although neither of those movies were particularly good.
