James Bond’s 50th Anniversary – Let’s Celebrate!

James Bond celebrates his 50th birthday on the big screen today, but really 2012 has been a year of celebration for Agent 007. You certainly can’t begrudge him that, after 14 books by Ian Fleming, the creator of the character (as well as 28 books post-Fleming), 23 films (as well as 2 unofficial ones) and even some video games to his name (4 players Goldeneye, huddled around a tiny CRT anyone?) the guy has deserved a bit of a party. And he certainly knows how to party.

He started off the year in banner fashion by helping the Queen drop into the little shindig the country was putting on called the Olympics.

Next up was the documentary that would explore his past behind the screen, releasing today to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 is for life long fans and casual views alike, this is sure to be an interesting look behind on of the most charismatic and enduring characters in cinema history.

That’s not all when it comes to rose tinted glasses, we’re also going to see 007 Legends, a game coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC that will feature stories from all 6 Bonds. Already confirmed to appear are Moonraker, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Goldfinger, Licence to Kill and Die another Day. The Skyfall story will release a week later for free, so as not to spoil the film which comes out a week later.

Speaking of which, probably should mention that THE NEW JAMES BOND FILM IS COMING OUT THIS MONTH! Unless you’ve been hiding in your little spoiler free emergency bunker, you have no excuse not to know that the 23rd Bond film Skyfall is coming out on October 26th and it looks fantastic.
