IRON MAN 4 Won’t Be Blasting Off Anytime Soon And New HULK MOVIE Being Considered

Marvel’s Kevin Feige talked to French site Reviewer about a majority of the future projects at the studio. It helps when you understand French like myself but it’s been translated for those who don’t. When asked if Robert Downey Jr. would be still around for Iron Man 4? Kevin had a very political answer while confirming that a fourth Iron Man installment won’t be apart of  Phase Three. Which lines up with recent reports that Robert’s new Marvel contract only included returning for Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers 3. Nothing says that Stark couldn’t join another Phase Three film. If Marvel does pursue Guardians of The Galaxy 2, having Iron Man apart of the team would be mirroring current comic book canon. However, it sounds like Iron Man 4 is more likely going to be saved for Phase Four. Even if writer/director Shane Black wants to make Iron Man 4 and Iron Man 5.

“That’s the question. And again, that’s a question we won’t have to face until after Avengers 3. So that’s at least five or six years away.”

When it comes to sequels we’ve been hearing a lot about a new Hulk film since 2012. Mark Ruffalo is game and Joss Whedon mentioned possibly writing it’s script. Kevin finally comments on the project in the midst of talk Planet Hulk and Indestructible Hulk would influence a new film. Leading to Avengers 3 taking cues from World War Hulk. Marvel is making a jump into the cosmic-side of the film universe . They’ve also included a Planet Hulk Easter Egg in Thor: The Dark World. It’s possible they could consider the more popular Hulk stories which sees Hulk off-world. Feige isn’t dishing out details here but it’s nice to hear Marvel is still thinking about how it could work.

“We have been discussing after Avengers what that would be, what that would look like. It’s really Mark Ruffalo portrayal of Bruce Banner, in the way Joss Whedon brought him to life in Avengers that worked. It’s even why you ask me that question. Which is good, we wanted that to happen, we wanted people to come out of Avengers saying The Hulk was their favorite character or at least on of their favorite. The fact that it did happen, was awesome. So, you know, all of the effort related to Hulk right know is going to Age of Ultron. It’s exciting, because he hasn’t been in any other film, so you can expect to have a lot of Bruce Banner and Hulk in Age of Ultron. Where we go after that ? We’ll see. It will be a little while before we figure that out but, we do think there’s plenty of opportunities with the Ruffalo Banner.”
