Yesterday Idris Elba (who played Heimdall in Thor) gave a small update on his character’s involvement and the story for Thor II, whilst doing press for Prometheus. He said that Asgard will feature more in the story, and Heimdall will as well. Now, speaking to Collider, Elba talks about what he would like to see explored for his character and more.
Will you be returning for Thor 2?
Yes, I am. I’m definitely going to do my man in a suit film.
What are you most excited about getting to do in the sequel?
I’d just like to get to know him a bit more. Who is Heimdall? He guards the gate. Okay. Is there anything else? I don’t know what is in the script because I haven’t read it yet. But, the audience has responded to Asgard and wants to know more about who lives there and what it’s about. I’m sure, if they do that, Heimdall will be featured more.
Also, speaking to Crave, Kat Dennings (who played the widely-hated character of Darcy in Thor) revealed that she is unsure of whether she’ll return of the sequel. Since it’s already been revealed that the majority of the cast of the first film are returning (with confirmation from the actors), is it possible Dennings won’t be returning?
CraveOnline: Kat, they’re gearing up for Thor 2. Are you going to be in it?
Kat Dennings: You know, I don’t know. Marvel is so tight lipped, you never know anything. So I have no idea.
