Hugh Laurie In Talks To Play The Villain Of Robocop

This movie must have one hell of a script. Variety reports that Hugh Laurie is in negotiations to play the villain of the Robocop reboot, alongside Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish and Joel Kinnaman in the title role. The newspaper and THR both say that he will be the villain of the movie, the “the cold, sarcastic CEO of Omni Corp, which creates the title character”. Oddly enough, Gary Oldman’s role in the movie is that of Norton, who is also reported to create Robocop. It’s more likely though that Norton will just be a scientist employed by Omni Corp…. Well that will definitely happen.

Laurie’s role sounds an awful lot like Dick Jones from the original, so chances are it will be him but blended with another more physical villain from the original. What do you think of the reboot so far? Sound off and check out the poster spotted at the Licensing Expo yesterday below!
