Henry Cavill, Scoot McNairy And Caleb Landry Jones On GODZILLA Shortlist

Is it just me, or is there a lot of Godzilla news recently? It was revealed a few days ago that Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead, The Shawshank Redemption) will be giving the film a final rewrite, and now a new report shows that actors Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), Caleb Landry Jones (X-Men: First Class) and Scott McNairy (Monsters) are all in consideration to play the lead in the blockbuster movie.

It was also revealed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in discussions for the role, however that was quickly debunked on Twitter, saying that the actor ended talks back in November (he’ll next be appearing in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, while rumours of his appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy were dismissed). It’s said that Cavill is a studio choice (so was Levitt) while Landry Jones and McNairy are “creative choices”. The latter previously worked with director Gareth Edwards on his first feature film Monsters.
