Has Christopher Nolan Found His Leading Man For INTERSTELLAR?


Ever since acclaimed director Christopher Nolan signed on to direct his brother’s sci-fi script Interstellar, originally intended for Steven Spielberg years ago, many fans have been speculating on what the story, cast and crew will be for the film. All we have to go on is the November 2014 release date and this logline to go on:

“Interstellar is a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding.”

Matthew McConaugheyBut now it looks as if we may have some more interesting news. Deadline reports that the director has offered the lead role (called Cooper) to Matthew McConaughey, which has shocked a ton of fanboys, to say the least.

We already know Michael Caine is appearing in the film, and Nolan prefers to pick from his own pool of actors for the roles in his movies, so going for an actor like McConaughey who he hasn’t worked with before and is without a major hit to his name is surprising. Still, that doesn’t mean he won’t do a good job.
