HANS ZIMMER Refuses To Use THE DARK KNIGHT Theme in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN

Well played, Hans Zimmer.

In a recent interview, Hans Zimmer, or as I like to call him “Danny Elfman of the 2000’s”, has placed our wary fanboy minds at ease. If nominated to conduct the score for Batman vs Superman, the composer WON’T recycle material from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy.

Here’s Hans Zimmer’s full statement:

“Quite seriously, the thought right now is that no, I don’t want to go and take what I did with Chris and just plonk it into another movie. There isn’t one good reason to do it, and there are so many good reasons not to do it.”

“I wouldn’t want to put the ideas I used in the Chris Nolan Batman movies into a Superman movie. It just wouldn’t feel right.”

My good sir, I concur!

After all, without Christian Bale’s lovely British face behind Batman’s cowl, recycling The Dark Knight Trilogy theme doesn’t really seem fitting. And let’s not forget about the trajectory of the newest Caped Crusader, which we’ll find under the stewardship of Ben Affleck. I may be wrong (as I often am, especially when debating whether or not Taco Bell is still open at 3 am), but I’m convinced Affleck’s Batman will be exceptionally brutal, requiring a dynamic theme dripping in noir regalia.
