Alright, you don’t have to guess, but I’m sure you would’ve been wrong anyway. Don’t feel too bad about it, though. After all, I had my money on a Thanos cameo, and now I owe our UK editor $30 and a chance to kick me squarely in my ball sackius rex.
But enough about my personal problems…
Clive Russell, the veteran thespian who’ll bring Odin’s oldest son Tyr to the big screen in THOR: THE DARK WORLD, has gleefully revealed that Benicio Del Toro will have a cameo in the film. If you’ve been paying attention to our Guardians of the Galaxy coverage (and I have no doubts that you have), you know Del Toro will portray the cosmic scourge The Collector in next year’s space faring movie.
Russell reveals all this at the 2:15 mark of this video:
“I worked with Benicio Del Toro in a scene in which he was meant to be quite angry, and sitting 15 feet away, I couldn’t hear a word he was saying.
I wonder if this will be a cameo, or if it’s a substantial role. If it’s the latter, then I imagine Del Toro’s Collector is secretly working in tandem with Tyr (the Norse god of war) to undermine Odin’s right to rule Asgard. Hmmm… if they succeed, and Odin is killed or incapacitated, could we see the King Thor story arc in the third flick?
