Very First Look at GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Villain Ronan!!!

Ronan the Accuser. That’s his name. A giant blue/green alien from the Kree Empire, travelling through space on a mission to enforce the Imperial Hammurabi-like law. He’s the main villain of Marvel Studios’ GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and this is the first clear pic of the big bad! Comic readers will rejoice, since we neer in a million BILLION years could’ve imagined such an obscure villain would sweep the silver screen, and he’s actually similar to his original design.

So, Ronan diehards, what do you think? Is the big bad (sometimes good) dude everything you ever dreamed?

As a never-happy fanboy, I hoped Marvel adapted the Guardians of the Galaxy from Bendis’s recent run, in all of their futuristic glory. That’s not altogether different than what director James Gunn has delivered, but he’s definitely veered towards the ‘junk space’ genre, in the same style as the Original Star Wars Trilogy and Joss Whedon’s Firefly.

Still, Ronan’s badass. I’ve yet to see any indication of Gunn’s fight scene skills, but I hope Ronan knocks Drax the f*** out. Not Man of Steel levels of combat mayhem, but pretty close.
