GODZILLA to Start Filming in March Says Seamus McGarvey, Also May Return for THE AVENGERS 2

Seamus McGarvey was the cinematographer on The Avengers and is currently set on handling Legendary’s GODZILLA. Talking with Collider, he didn’t reveal any plot details, but did reveal when filming will begin.

“We start in March.  March ‘til June, I think.”

Pretty exciting news. (No word on casting yet strangely.) Back at the San Diego Comic Con they had shown some test footage, which the crowd greatly approved. Interestingly McGarvey says they haven’t gotten down how they’re going visually yet, but he is testing next week.

“We still haven’t chosen the direction we’re going visually.  I’m sort of testing next week, in fact, for that stuff.”

Good to see the film is moving forward, it’s updates like this that put the naysayers to rest. In Avenger sequel news, McGarvey has also revealed that Joss Whedon has approached him for the highly anticipated sequel.

“I can’t really say that, but yes he has asked me.”

GODZILLA so far is stomping to theaters on May 16th, 2014 with THE AVENGERS 2 coming the following year on May 1st.
