English Cast Announcement for Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess

If you’re attending Nan Desu Kan this weekend, hopefully you were able to catch the English Dub Premiere of Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess yesterday! If you did, you might have been able to guess who voices some of the new characters, but we’ll go ahead and put your mind at ease and confirm them for you right now!

English Cast
Éclair – Jessica Calvello
Momon – Tiffany Grant
Cream – Scott Zenreich

The movie also marks the first appearance of another new character—Pantherlily! Pantherlily will be voiced by Rick Keeling.

If you missed the premiere, don’t worry. The BD/DVD Combo releases on 12.10.13. You can click here to pre-order your copy now!

synopsis: Follow Fairy Tail’s dream team – Natsu, Gray, Erza, Lucy, Wendy, Happy, and Carla – as they lend a helping hand to a girl with little memory and a grudge against wizards. As they uncover clues about her mysterious past, a lunatic prince hatches a half-baked plan to sacrifice her in exchange for immortality. When the fool unleashes an ancient force, a raging war becomes the fiercest inferno Fairy Tail has ever faced. Can the guild with a heart of gold save the planet from a fiery finish?

It shows the characters introduced in the movie such as the titular Phoenix Priestess Eclair, her compainon Momon,  the mad prince Cream, and perhaps most important Pantherlily. Pantherlily is the third talking cat in the Fairy Tail guild (along with Happy & Carla) who initially doesn’t show up in the series until the second half of season 2 but he will be getting his first dub appearance with this movie (similar to how Brook will get his in the upcoming One Piece Strong World movie).

Another interesting thing to note about the movie is the outfits the main cast is wearing. In the Fairy Tail manga and anime the story has a seven year time skip which takes place after the Tenrou Island arc. The outfits Natsu & the others are wearing in the movie are their post time skip attire. The time skip doesn’t officially happen in the anime till about half way through season 3 (the movie came out in Japan near the end of season 3) so it confused almost everyone when Funimation licensed the Fairy Tail movie before licensing the entire series (which they announced they had at Otakon a couple of months ago).
