SchmoesKnow have even more casting news up their sleeves. This time concerning lead roles in Alan Taylor’s Terminator 5. Taylor (Game of Thrones, Thor: The Dark World) hasn’t been confirmed for the directing gig but that hasn’t stopped him from talking about the project to press. They say that John Connor is apparently going back in time to save his mother Sarah from a terminator. The actresses linked for Sarah are Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Brie Larson (21 Jump Street) and Margot Robbie (Wolf of Wall Street). Robbie (Fantastic Four) and Clarke (Winter Soldier) have been previously linked for Marvel female leads. Captain America and Jurassic World contender Garrett Hedlund (Tron Legacy, Troy, On The Road) is being looked at for John. Along with actor Boyd Holbrook (The Host) also in the running.
We don’t know for sure but Alan has stated that he’s keen on having Arnold Schwarzenegger return for the fifth installment. Dwayne Johnson had been rumored at one point for the role of the new terminator. I’m beyond stoked about this new film. The production companies involved are known for giving audiences large entertaining action flicks. Not to mention Alan Taylor is great at delivering thrills along with solid characters. He’s recently mentioned his loyalty to the original source material from the first two Terminator movies. Which has led to the idea that the new movie will be more of sequel rather than a reboot. Let’s just hope they’re bringing the franchise back to it’s R-rating.
