Legendary Pictures has been in development for years on a live-action film based on the fantasy video game Warcraft. Not too long ago they hired director Duncan Jones. Best known for his stellar sci-fi flicks Moon and Source Code. The director has been giving small teases to fans over the months. Including an awesome pic of a weapon prop. He’s gone on to do a panel which revealed some of the story along with concept artwork. Apparently, the film will focus on human hero Anduin Lothar versus orc hero Durotan. While the story will consist of both sides.

They also confirmed that costumes will be designed by Mayes Rubeo (Avatar, Apocalypto) and the cinematographer would be Simon Duggan (The Great Gatsby). Academy award-winning special effects supervisor Bill Westenhofer (Life of Pi) confirmed that the Orcs in the film would not be CGI. Rather actors in Orc make-up/costumes. I assume similar to what Peter Jackson did in his Middle Earth saga. Colin Farrell, Paula Patton, Travis Fimmel and others have been linked for lead roles in the film. Warcraft currently is set to go up against Star Wars: Episode VII in December 2015. However, it’s expected one of the two projects will adjust their release date.
