Interesting news from the very secret and very mysterious Batman Vs. Superman movie (or whatever the hell they’re calling it now): it seems that the film has a new screenwriter.

And an Oscar winner at that. Argo‘s Chris Terrio has just been confirmed to be writing the latest draft of the still untitled film, set to start filming in Michigan next year, for release on July 17, 2015.

Although this isn’t anywhere near confirmed, it’s most likely that Terrio got the gig thanks to his association with Ben Affleck, and David S. Goyer is reportedly now working on Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman film adaptation, which is apparently going to be directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Considering his only other film is a surprisingly good romantic comedy about porn addiction (Don Jon), it’s a very unusual choice.

As for Terrio, his Argo screenplay wasn’t half bad, and he may actually be just the thing to give the already crowded superhero film a little bit of class.

It’s also not been confirmed if Goyer will still receive credit for his work on the screenplay.

Ladies and gentlemen, your new screenwriter.

The untitled Superman-Batman movie will be directed by Zack Snyder. It stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Gal Gadot.
