DARTH MAUL Actor Ready To Return For STAR WARS EPISODE 7

Who wouldn’t want a shot at the new Star Wars flicks? Everyone in the previous trilogies has voiced their interest (even though Harrison Ford went out of his way to play hard to get), and now another fan favorite has chimed in.

Ray Park, the man responsible for bringing Darth Maul to the big screen, has briefly commented on STAR WARS EPISODE 7 and whether he’d like to return.

Here’s what he said:

“Just give me food and water, and I’m there,”

Short, sweet, and to the point.

As much as I love Darth Maul (he was one of my favorite characters in the Prequels… as he was with everyone, I’m sure) I really despise the whole concept of resurrecting dead characters. The Star Wars Expanded Universe is littered with clone Emperors and ghost Sith, so I’d prefer if J.J. Abrams took the series in an entirely new direction, where death wasn’t meaningless and there’s a weighted cost to every fight scene.

Although, the Clone Wars animation managed to handle Darth Maul’s resurrection pretty well (giving him some chromed out legs). Still, we should leave that be. How about a spin-off movie instead, starring Ewan Mcregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Park as Maul, as the two traverse the afterlife as ghosts, and fight each other with ghost lightsabers?  Or perhaps a buddy comedy?  That could work too.

Ghost vs Ghost is alright in my book. Ghost vs. Living is where I draw the line!

    Excellent point.
Comic books already have that problem (google ”Comic Book Death”), we don’t need such a thing in Star Wars films too.

why does he even need to be Darth Maul ? Let the guy be a different character. He’s a badass and no one would recognize him anyway.

I would like to see a darth maul type of villain, but not the actual darth maul. i would love to see an spin off movie on him that would be awesome!

NOOBS (the guy who wrote the article & the guys who agree with his point)
Darth Maul was never killed, he was just cut in two pieces.
He was transformed into a bionic sith afterwards, every stars wars geek knows this…geez why do you have to make me angry ?!

Hi, I’m the writer (thanks for commenting!)

But I did mention the Clone Wars, if you read that bit. But by Lucas’s own admission, the canon goes in order (according to priority) movie>tv>comics/books>games

      • Haku

Actually Maul came back with his robot legs LONG BEFORE Clone Wars showed him like that. Maul has actually appeared many times in the Star Wars books and comics, Clone Wars was just his first animated showing. So the whole rbing him back can totally be done since it was canon long before Clone Wars did it.

I didn’t konw that. BUT… before any of the Expanded Universe is considered, you MUST remember that Lucas and Disney don’t consider them Canon to the movies. So when we discuss Maul in the context of movies, everything is untouched

never knew he was both the most poorly used sith lord ever and the most badass ninja who was ever born

    • Francesco

He was Toad from the X-Men franchise too

  • Marcus Pearl

The Expanded Universe also has Obi-wan disappearing into another world leaving Luke
