Dane DeHaan To Play Harry Osborn In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Sequel?

Andrew Garfield recently revealed that The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will begin filming next February, which means more casting news is rolling in for the movie. We already know that Shailene Woodley will be playing Mary Jane Watson and Jaimie Foxx is in line to bring Electro to the big screen as the main villain, but in an article from THR they reveal that Sony are now looking for the right actor to play Harry Osborn, who was played by James Franco in the previous trilogy.

According to their sources, the studio is looking at Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), Brady Corbet (Melancholia) and Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures) to play Osborn in the sequel. Previously, they sought a “big, athletic actor” for the role but now they’ve changed his description to “dark and edgy,” which is why I think DeHaan would be a fantastic choice for the movie. He was absolutely brilliant and the stand out star of Chronicle and it made me sad that he was never “discovered” by George Lucas to play Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels.
