Complete Sentinel Displayed on X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Set

This morning, X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer tweeted a picture of himself standing next to a fully seen Sentinel from the upcoming movie. While we’ve only seen shadowy images and propaganda material of these machines in the past, this is our first clear look at the murderous machines that will be hunting down our mutant protagonists next summer.

For those who have been in the equivalent of nerd limbo over the past years, X-Men: Days of Future Past will combine the time travel narrative of the 1981 X-Men story Days of Future Past with the fearsome Sentinel robots first unleashed by military scientist Bolivar Trask in 1965. We’ve already seen glimpses of Trask played by Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage, who will portray Trask during the 1970s parts of the movie. The movie is unique in that it will combine the cast of the previous First Class movie along with the cast of the original X-Men films.

I for one think that the Sentinels look pretty badass. I remember reading an online comment earlier this week with someone saying now they looked pretty stupid and unintimidating. Well, let me put it into perspective for you, anonymous Internetgoer. Imagine one of these, let’s just say at the very minimum, 10 foot monstrosities charging at you with all weapons blazing because its only goal is to destroy your entire mutant existence. Yeah, I’d say it looks just scary enough.
