Check Out Empire’s Awesome GODZILLA Cover

If the new poster wasn’t enough, let’s take a look at something even more dynamic. Empire is known for their movie-related articles, so it was inevitable that GODZILLA would get some kind of coverage in the months leading up to it. No one was prepared for this. Ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes on what may be the greatest look we’ve gotten of the design yet.

The magazine also promises “more Godzilla goodness” in the next few days. Here’s an excerpt with Gareth Edwards commenting on the head:

“Trying to get the face right was the main thing,” says Edwards. “I guess he’s got more of a bear’s face, or a dog’s. We also used eagle. There’s a lot of nobility in an eagle. It made him feel very majestic and noble.”

If that’s the design we’ll be seeing in the film, we’re in for a treat. America will finally be getting a taste of the true Godzilla. If you’re subscribed to Empire, you can expect to receive this collector’s cover any day now, otherwise the regular issue will hit newsstands this Thursday on the 27th.
