BRYAN SINGER Has A Super Secret Cross Over Idea for THE AVENGERS and His X-MEN?

While chatting with a crowd of film enthusiasts at this year’s Fantasia International Film Festival, DAYS OF FUTURE PAST director Bryan Singer let loose a few secrets regarding his upcoming dystopian mutie flick. Did you know Scarlet Witch will be a no show in the movie? And that most of the film is set in 1973?

While that info is interesting enough for a few brief moments of wondering, this next tidbit is intense. According to JoBlo, who sent a staffer to cover the event, Bryan Singer said…

On any Marvel movies he’d like to make: “IRON MAN so I could finally buy that house I always wanted or a plane.” Seriously though, has an idea for a Marvel Universe mash up he didn’t want to reveal.

A Marvel Universe mash up, you say?

Considering the time stream hopping events in Days of Future Past, a dalliance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t as preposterous as it once seemed. Although, Kevin Feige and the rest of the MCU executives aren’t exactly suffering from a lack of ideas at the moment. They’ve yet to delve through their top tier characters (Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Namor, Daredevil, etc), so intermingling with another studio’s property seems like an unnecessary hassle.

Just wait a few more decades, when all this superhero money has dried up, and we can witness another “King Kong vs Godzilla” moment in the form of X-Men teaming up with The Avengers.

Although, I can’t help but wonder about Singer’s idea.  Will it be exclusively based on Fox’s current Marvel properties?  Will it cross streams with Mark Millar’s independent worlds? Does he want to adapt Avengers vs X-Men for the big screen?  The Onslaught Saga?  Reconcile the entire muddled universe with a Heroes Reborn event?
