BRAINIAC and LEX LUTHOR in MAN OF STEEL Sequel?

MAN OF STEEL is stil a few months from its June 14th release date, but some heroic scoopmeisters have managed to gain some top secret spiolers from the flick just for us. While not entirely unexpected, CBM claims that Lex Luthor and a clandestine Arificial Intelligence project are alluded to in MOS, in the same fashion that Norman Osborn was carefully teased in The Amazing Spider-Man. WB is still minding their manners (and holding off announcing a sequel) until the Superman reboot offficially debuts. But, assuming the flick is every bit the mind blowing blockbuster that a Zack Snyder & Christopher Nolan love child should be, then a sequel will be right around the corner.

Lex is a classic, albeit tired, standby in the world of Superman movies. He’s been part of 5 of them, and I don’t care how much of Nolan’s secret sauce you inject into a flick, if they plan to re-introduce Luthor, they need to create a completely new identity (no longer the real estate chasing hound dog!).

That where this Artificial Intelligence comes in.  It doesn’t take much imagination to asssume this contraption will be Brainiac. I’m hopeful that it won’t be, since Brainiac’s Kyptonian heritage provides a pretty fucking badass tale in its own right, but this spin on the classic origin story could introduce one of the cooler hybrids of recent memory: Lexiac!

Half Luthor. Half Brainiac. All meniacle/crazy/bald/shiny Superman killing machine.
