Will Alice Krige Play LADY DEATH in THOR: THE DARK WORLD?

Alice Krige, the actress best known for playing the cybernetic monarch the Borg Queen in First Contact, has signed on for Alan Taylor’s Asgardian sequel Thor: The Dark World.

While she’s given no specifics about her role, the South African thespian hinted that she may be unrecognizable in the film. If her character requires a great deal of CGI or prosthetics, then she’ll probably be one of Marvel’s more fantastical beings.

Given her penchant for regal roles, I think we can safely bet she’ll play Alflyse, Queen of the Dark Elves. Although, given the age gap between the actress and Christopher Eccleston, who’ll portray Malekith the commander of the evil beasties, I think Krige will be a more subtle character.

Maybe one who’ll serve a greater purpose in the MCU? An entity intwined with The Avengers 2 villain Thanos?

Lady Death, perhaps?  Krige admitted to playing only a small role in Thor, and they’ll need to introduce The Mad Titan’s obsession eventually.

What say you?
