A few years ago Marvel Studios announced plans for a series of superhero TV shows to compliment their blockbuster summer releases. Since then, 2 of the 3, Cloak & Dagger and Jessica Jones, have been cancelled. The third was meant to be a Hulk series, with Guillermo Del Toro at the helm, but the famed horror director has recently revealed that the show is on an indefinite hiatus.
Now, after the pants-staining awesomeness of THE AVENGERS, I think it’s pretty obvious what’s happening here. Mark Ruffalo killed the Hulk show. His gamma powered beastie was just TOO damn cool and Marvel can’t be bothered to bring another iteration to the mainstream. Especially if that would alienate fans of the Ruff-meister’s big screen version.
Check out the video below:
“Right now all I know is we’ve been in a holding pattern for the last eight months. All they say is we’re waiting on a writer, but it’s been inactive. It’s still there as far as I know, but there’s been no action on it.”
In all honesty…
