First Live Action Photo of Elizabeth Olsen as SCARLET WITCH Leaked

Damn. That’s badass.

Spoilers ahead.

Apparently The Avengers director Joss Whedon directed the after credit scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, a very short clip which will serve as our introduction to the villains-turned-heroes Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch from next summer’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

While I’ve yet to see the Cap America sequel, even though Marvel’s going out of their way to all but spoil the entire production (they’ve released the first ten minutes of Winter Soldier online), we’ve nabbed a photograph of Scarlet Witch in the after credit scene.

And… it’s awesome. Honestly, I’m the first person in the room to criticize Joss Whedon. He included a bit too much humor in the first Avengers and he indulged in the whole comic book aesthetic (Steve Rogers’s suit was a garish nightmare), but if this picture is any indication of the dark twists and turns of Age of Ultron, Whedon is gonna hit it out of the park. Check out Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch below and let me know what you think.

Whatcha think? She’s certainly got the whole “Ivan Vanko” think going for her(that’s Mickey Rourke’s Russian villain from Iron Man 2) as she sits in Baron Von Strucker’s prison. I’m simply astounded by the sudden change in tone from the previous Avengers flick. Even though I love that first team up flick, I’ll forever criticize Whedon for 1) too much humor 2) cheesy, plastic aesthetic and 3) mediocre combat. I know, I know… those are petty fanboy gripes for an otherwise TERRIFIC film, but at least Whedon looks to be changing the aesthetic, as this picture indicates.

Hopefully Age of Ultron dives full force into dark, grit, and despair. Superheroes are always so cool when they exist in such a contrasting world.Inhumans avengers age of ultron
