The first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be hitting the Web (pun definitely intended) on December 5 and will later be attached to 3D screenings of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug upon its December 13 release. However, as is the norm now with superhero movies, we’re getting teasers of the upcoming trailer with several five-20 second preview clips. Take a look below:
Let’s get right to the interesting part: underneath the film’s title is “la Amenaza de Electro,” which roughly matches up with the previous subtitle we’ve seen on several of the international posters: “Rise of Electro.” There’s been no official confirmation of a secondary title being added, so either it has yet to be announced or the subtitle will only be seen for international release.
Other than Spidey web-swinging and free-falling, there wasn’t much to see, although we did get a glimpse of the Oscorp building from high above. The web-swinging itself looks cool, although it’s quite obvious that it’s CGI. Part of me is concerned whether this is actually footage for the video game, but the previews at the end do mention the previous confirmed Thursday release date, so unless they note otherwise, this is just CGI Spidey teasing us about the movie trailer. Still, it wouldn’t the first time we’ve seen a CGI Spidey swinging around New York in a trailer, except this time he’s looking a lot more stylish. Seeing it in action for the first time, I’m glad they made the decision to dump his old costume and go for something more analogous to the comic.
