TEEN TITANS GO! “Super Robin” Review

This week’s episode of Teen Titans Go is a cautionary tale, my friends. A somber story, about the curse that is known as “super-powers”. This story is not for the faint of heart. And with that, lets go on! SPOILERS!!!

In “Super Robin“, the Boy Wonder (Scott Menville) becomes frustrated when he notices that all the other Titans can pawn the H.I.V.E. Five without breaking a sweat, while he himself can barely take them. After hearing an off-hand remark from Beast Boy (Greg Cipes), Robin decides to take matters into his own hand! He’ll cause a lab accident! After all, that is how all heroes get their powers!

After that fails, Robin decides to beg Raven (Tara Strong) to magically give him powers. The Titans all warn him that powers are actually a CURSE, but Robin doesn’t care. So…he gets powers. AND THEN ENDS ALL CRIME AND WORLD HUNGER IN LIKE FIVE SECONDS!

But….ending all evil also ends the Titans, because if there is no crime to fight, then they are out of a job. So Robin spends the rest of his life living monotonously, and then he dies.

No really, the episode actually ends with Robin, as an elderly man, dying of a heart attack in the hospital after the other Titans give him a huge “Told ya so!”. And it is as epic as it sounds, yes!

One thing I liked was, of course, Robin. He continues to be the most entertaining character in the show, and kudos to Menville. Voicing such an energetic character can’t be easy. The script is still sharp, and the ninja robin got some chuckles out of me.

Another really strong and humorous episode. Oh, and the Chicken Dance is the coolest dance ever!
