TEEN TITANS GO! “La Larva de Amor” Review

Geez, this review is really late, isn’t it? Well, all the best things in life are worth waiting for, right?

In “La Larva de Amor“, Starfire (Hynden Walch) entrusts her dear pet Silkie to her fellow Titans while she is away….somewhere (we never really get a reason as to why she is heading out, actually). Unfortunately, Silkie ends up escaping, and somehow finds himself caught in the middle of a soap opera in Mexico!

This episode pleasantly surprised me. I didn’t think that Silkie could hold his own segment, but I was wrong. In fact, this may have been the most fun segment yet. The telenovella parody scenes were well done (oh, all the drama!), and Silkie comes across as more cute than annoying here.

The Titans aren’t dormant, though. After we view an entertaining milk-mustache contest, the Titans scramble to find Silkie. Their methods are, of course, zany and not-so-effective, but they try.

The voice acting is still top-notch. Comedic timing can make or break a comedic show, and in this case, it certainly doesn’t break it. If the show continues to stay this humorous, we may have a winner. Oh, and BTW, watch for Batman and Commissioner Gordon’s cameo and the Super Mario reference.
