Let’s Get STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 3 Into Production!

If you’re a long time reader of UTF, then you know quite a bit about our weird, quirky, and down right assholish fanboy ways, but beneath our rough exterior, we’re also warm hearted human beings. You know… the kind with mushy feelings and tricky emotions.

Well, for the past 7 years we’ve been in a post-heartbreak haze, and I think it’s finally time to talk about it.

Who’s the cold hearted succubus responsible, you ask? None other than LucasArts!

They’ve spent the better part of the last decade producing mediocre Star Wars game after mediocre Star Wars game, while utterly failing to produce a proper console sequel to the greatest SW series of all time… BATTLEFRONT!

In light of their incompetence, one particular fanboy has started a campaign to remind LucasArts about the only game we really want. His name is Connor Heggie, and this is his tale:

UTF: So Connor, What inspired you to start this campaign for STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 3?

I had got the previous two Battlefront games then they came out back in 2004 & 2005 and like everyone else waited for a 3rd installment. Years past and I sort of forgot about the Battlefronts, that was until late 2011 then I was doing a clear out and found them and played them again. So I looked online to see if a 3rd one had been made and there wasn’t. Anyway I did come across some Battlefront III Campaigns on Facebook but they were small in number one of them at the time just peaking above 1000 likes which had been up since 2009. Now I was in college at the time and so I thought I’d give it a try, put my media knowledge into it and so far it’s the largest Battlefront III Campaign on Facebook. Problem is spreading the word, it’s a slow process. But in my opinion I’m doing what the other haven’t done, to reach out and contact sites like yours to help.

UTF: Were you strictly a fan of the console iterations, or the handheld as well?

I have a Xbox 360 and Laptop. I would say I’m a console fan, I’m just conferrable with it, PC games too many button for me.

UTF: How fucking cheap was the imperial shuttle in BATTLEFRONT 2? Those God Damn missile spamming bitches fucked my whole war plan up, did they ruin yours?

Yes that was cheap as I would preferred the other Imperial Shuttle from Return of the Jedi. Though it was it tie-in with the release of Revenge of the Sith I think. The Space Battles made Battlefront II better, though for a 3rd they could be greatly improved. I wasn’t too bad at piloting the fighters but haven’t been on it for abit so I maybe abit rusty.
