With another entry does the burgeoning property continue to succeed or start to fail?  Read on to find out.

The official description from Reunion:

After unleashing the curse of the ZOMBIE OUTLAW, Matt Naismith tends to his ailing friend, Will Simers, who has been infected – and attempts to plot his next move. Irvine State University’s resident “Zombie Expert,” David “Scooter” Donatelli, has his own ideas…

Zombie Outlaw 2_CIf I had one word to describe the follow up release in this series I’d have to go with: improvement.  The simple truth is that the first outing had a lot of promise hidden within its already sterling presentation, but this sequel takes what was done and absolutely runs with it.  The creative team excels in the most capable ways as they implement slight changes to their arc, as a more mature touch keeps what worked and adds more elements to that mix.

Brian Apodaca delivers the laughs as a zombie outbreak takes hold of our wayward college students.  Thankfully we have a resident expert, even though his past exploits make his claims absolutely inexplicable.  His inclusion offers a level of charm that just needed to be there in order to make the whole of the romp work.  The author knows what he’s doing as he moves the pieces across the board in a zany romp that has a friend in the balance, an enemy on the rise and of course a crush that’s bound to get our protagonists in trouble.

The most impressive thing I found here was the art by Benny Jordan who simply floored me with the implementation of varied lines.  The use of slender strokes built a detailed work that expanded the original intention of the style by crafting finer strokes.  The steady hand built a consistent vision that not only authenticated the piece but also elevated the whole of romp to a level that’s sure to impress eager followers that are looking for a different visual experience than what they usually see at their local comic shop.

Zombie Outlaw #2 is an easy release because it’s fun and engaging.  From the first page to the final panel the creative team has my attention as these gifted talents deliver a piece that absolutely earns praise.  Highly recommended.
