The Black Panther is Coming to Theaters in 2014

Earlier today we had a hint at who might be the new Avengers to feature in their own movie come 2014. Latino Review, after teasing all day in exchange for followers, has finally revealed the name. You may recognize this fellow:

That’s right fanboys and girls, Marvel is making a wise move by introducing The Black Panther to the world,  one of their most awesome characters. Black Panther has been eluded to in a couple of instances in previous films, but until now he has been relatively, and tragically unknown in the mainstream’s eye. All of that is sure to change come 2014, when T’Challa, King of the African Nation of Wakanda, becomes the next world-famous future Avenger to grace the silver screen(assuming this info is correct, but the guys at Latino Review are very reliable). Now we speculate as to casting and director. Who could play T’Challa? Idris Elba? Michael Jai White?

Michael Jai White is severely over rated in my book. Djimon Hounsou would be good, but I worry he’d be a bit too old at this point. Idris Elba would be good, but he may be pushing the age boundary as well. How about Anthony Mackie? Young, talented and not a huge name, but recognizable.

Idris Elba is a good shout, get Stringer Bell in there!

  • Steve Lemlek

Djimon Hounsou was born for this role, but I agree, he’s a bit too old

Don Cheadle (equally old) would have been a perfect choice as well, but he’s already Rhodey, and that’d just be too weird.
