Star Mage #4 Review

With everything that happened in the last issue, what can happen more that will leave you breathless. Read on to find out more.

A few months after the dramatic cliffhanger in Issue 3, Darien and his friends are forced to fend off Orasmas’ monsters while Arylos searches for the truth. Plus, what does Earthen Aaron King have to do with anything?

Okay, so this issue starts with a bang and really doesn’t stop. We StarMage-04-pr-1-7ed57start with something being dropped on a party, then everyone running away, I am not sure what this has to do with anything but I am sure there is a reason for it. Then we go straight to the academy, where things are getting more and more crazy. Darien is getting more and more powerful by the class and his instructors and peers are starting to take notice. However, when a little scuffle occurs, a monster appears and they have to defend their friends and their school. Then, this is where it gets interesting. The King does something that will change Darien’s life forever and with a new character coming forth, is he a friend or foe. It is very well done and has some great implications.

The writing for this issue is good because it continues the story but, also, gives reactions to these characters, which is a great turn because not everyone sees him as the hero that we know he will be but it adds tension to the  story. It is very well done.

The art is another part that is fantastic. The spells and explanation of things through visuals is awesome. It adds another level to the story, that you cannot get in other type of medium. It is fantastic and you will not be disappointed.

Star Mage is a great series that continues to surprise.
