He’s back — PETER PARKER Returns!

Amazing Spider-Man Banner

It’s 100% official!  Rejoice – for the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, will return!

Amazing Spider-Man 1_PreviewCoverAlright everyone who’s threatened Dan Slott over this arc, start making your apologies. The ultimate fanboy with a plan endured our stupidity for thirteen months but it looks like the end of this dark reign just might be in sight.

Here’s what the author had to say about the experience:

To do that for a solid year of my life, that’s the hardest thing I’ve had to do — to look small children in the eye at a convention and lie to them. One of them with an honest-to-God Little League uniform and a quivering lip. Inside, part of me was dying.

The long and short of it is that fans can expect to see some motion toward our heroes timely return. Those of us that have been keeping up with Superior Spider-Man have enjoyed some nuggets along the way, and we can expect more of them as early as this Wednesday.

According to NY Daily News:

[Dan] Slott divulged some of the top secret story to the ‘reel-life’ Spidey, Andrew Garfield, during a visit last summer to the set of ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2.’

We don’t yet know what will become of SpOck, but personally I hope he gets outed publicly then bumped out of Petey’s body.  It’s time for the good man to rise and kick this pretender’s pompous —  well you get the idea.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1 is due April 2014.

What do my fellow fanboys and fangirls think of this?  Are you ready for the return of Peter Parker?  Or do you want the current iteration of the old webhead to continue indefinitely?

I’m really excited to see exactly how Peter is coming back and what will become of the Superior Spider-Man.

Personally, I’m a little disappointed that the Superior arc didn’t last longer. I was hoping they wouldn’t bring Peter back in time for the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie, but oh well. Should be interesting nonetheless.

I hope Peter doesn’t go back to that horrible cloth uniform, though. Because that shit is so 1963.

Superior has made for some interesting storytelling, but nothing can replace Peter. Although honestly, was there any doubt that they were going to bring him back right before the movie came out?
