What’s going on with our new Skyman? Read on to find out.

“Still trying to overcome his fear of flying after a plane crash that nearly killed him, Sgt. Eric Reid doesn’t have time for PTSD as the new Skyman! The superhero’s life isn’t made any easier by the confrontations with his handler and the shocking number of bugs plaguing his suit. And matters are made even worse as he discovers someone’s trying to sabotage the suit and smear his good name!”

So with my reviews this week, I have to say that I thought a couple of these were going to knock offs, including, this one. However, just download (11)like everything else, I have been pleasantly surprised. This new series starring our new favorite Sgt. Eric Reed is a fresh and exciting take of the superhero genre and this new issue helps delve into this world even better. The one thing that I love about this series and this issue is that our hero is someone that is scared. I feel that is the biggest thing that we never see. We see hero’s get upset but never show their true fears and Sgt. Eric has a couple of other things going on with him. His entire situation is plagued by fear, flaws, and even the person that is supposed to be his helper. If Iron Man had these problems, I don’t think that he would be the playboy that he seems to be.

I really like this issue and the writing because of the realism. The pain and the fear that our hero experience isn’t watered down and it does a great job of making us feel. This issue also has some mystery in it, that is placed so well and so discreetly that it feels natural rather than a bombshell.

The art is spot on as well. It is quick and quirky. It, also, portrays the emotion so well; that there are no hiccups at showing what the character is feeling, which is important for this kind of comic.
