The official description from Marvel:

• As his plan to take down Sabretooth takes shape, Wolverine goes undercover in Madripoor – but he’s not the only one with his eyes on Sabretooth’s empire – what do PETE WISDOM & MI-13 have to do with it?
• Paul Cornell (WOLVERINE: KILLABLE) and Gerardo Sandoval (CABLE & X-FORCE) bring you a two part epic that’ll push the mortal Wolverine to his limits!

Wolverine #7 PreviewThe latest Wolverine run has had it’s ups but has also had it’s downs. Unfortunately this latest story The Madripoor Job has fallen slightly into the latter category. The premise showed a lot of promise with last issues cliffhanger being extremely suspenseful. The follow-on from that cliffhanger was however really disappointing, though not unexpected.

Paul Cornell brings his latest two part story to it’s conclusion in a very fast paced issue. The swift nature of the issue along with the lack of Wolverine/Sabretooth action really disappointed me as though I’d rather the issue be too quick than too slow it doesn’t change the rushed feeling. What I did like about Cornell’s script however was the way that Logan’s secrets started to unravel and how his current team of rouges reacted to it. I also loved the many Logan’s sequence as although the mechanics behind the sphere confused me slightly the idea was very clever and interesting.

Gerardo Sandoval once again does a stellar job of the artwork for this issue with his energetic and quirky style being truly wonderful. I also have to say that the work he’s produced on this issue has to be his best yet as between the dynamic layouts and the explosive action it gives a vibrant tone to the issue. Sandoval also gives tons of intensity with the characters facial expressions as whether it’s Wolverine’s team looking for answers or the vicious nature of both Wolverine and Sabretooth it adds a lot of tension to the story.

Wolverine‘s latest two part story ends as disappointingly as it opened and I doubt I’ll remember in years to come. Nonetheless it was still decent and the set-up that it does has me intrigued for the advertised Three Months to Die storyline so it squeezes through with a recommendation.
