Veil #3 Review

What weird stuff will happen next? Read on to find out.

The official description from Dark Horse:

When Veil’s only ally is ripped away from her, she’s left at the mercy of a mysterious and powerful enemy. Could this stranger know who Veil is? Why is he pursuing her? The truth is more terrifying than you can imagine.

Veil #3Veil has been an astonishing series so far with it’s mysterious story being captivating. This continues into this issue though it’s not entirely in a good way. Despite this the story remains captivating being gripping and suspenseful.

Greg Rucka‘s script for this issue had me torn more than ever before as though it was very intriguing with shocking consequences the overall lack of character interaction disappointed me. Now I’m not usually one that complains about how quick it takes me to read an issue but something, but I do enjoy is character interaction and especially from the main character. In this issue we get little of the first and none of the latter. Rucka does however make up with the overall mystical elements of this issue with the ending being very shocking.

Toni Fejzula is astounding me with his awesome artwork on this series. The sheer intensity of his eye-catching layouts are truly marvellous and with a script that lacks dialogue you really need it to excel visually. He also impresses when it comes to detail as his edgy style is very consistent with both characters and scenery being amazing. The best part of Fejzula’s remains his colours as along with his inks they give a vibrancy that makes for the perfect finish.

Veil continues to intrigue though the lack of interaction from Veil herself let this particular issue down. It still however merit’s a recommendation.
