Vandroid #2 Review

Tubular dude! What is going on with the awesome flashback comic book? Step back in time and read some more.

Vandroid ramps up in this no-holds-barred second issue! The Van Man is off the chain, but when he runs afoul of his creator’s loose ends—including his estranged wife and an old criminal acquaintance—he finds out that being human is more complicated than his programming indicated!

I think that this whole thing with Vandroid is so cool and interesting that I have to admit it is awesome. If you didn’t know Vandroid vandr2p1is based on a real movie that never made it and was lost, but luckily they have a comic of it that is both fun and just fantastic. The one thing that I think really works for this issue, is that there is some great throwbacks to the eighties but, also, some great story telling. There is an interesting dynamic in this issue because Vandroid is dealing with a lot of the different things because of his creator. It’s adds a lot to the issue because of who he deals with and how he learns that there is more to humanity than just black and white. I think that it interesting that the character is growing and learning, even though he is just an AI. It is a great dynamic and it works.

The writing for this issue is fantastic. It gives homage to some our favorite 80’s movies and allows us to jump back into a simpler time. It also plays up with the humor and the different things that were some of the great things that were 80’s movies.

The art is so cool and hip. It adds the dynamic to the 80’s homage and really helps bring back to that era. It is so spot on that I have to applaud it.

Vandroid #2 is hip and exciting while having a lot of heart.
