The official description from Dark Horse:

Deliberately walking into a trap to save the life of scientist Elise Fong, ex-CIA operative Farrow Greene finds herself surrounded by metal monstrosities, as she contends with not only the T-800 but a host of other robot enemies reverse engineered by mercenaries!

The Terminator-Enemy of My Enemy 5_Preview PageI consider myself to be a huge fan of the Terminator franchise, so needless to say that when I heard that there’d be more comics dealing with this property I was ecstatic. I’m happy to report that as this mini-series enters its second to last round it does so with the right infrastructure in order to craft an engaging finale, so kudos to the creative team.

Dan Jolley opens the issue with our two primary characters literally on a cold slab. The text carries a brief re-cap and some more details regarding our former CIA operative, Farrow Greene. To the author’s credit he handles the subtle nuances of character development just before the book delivers some solid action. The text follows the timely tradition of carefully placed elements that many fanboys and fangirls have come to expect, as it does enough right to entertain. Though I do wish there would have been a bit more space for further examination of our heroine.

The illustrations by Jamal Igle offer a competent display that cements the over the top antics in a discernible dance. Each panel is given just enough detail to make it work, but there were a few instances where I felt that the final renditions seemed a bit shaky. For the most part that occurrence was rather rare especially when the colors by Wes Dzioba were employed to complete these entertaining images.

The Terminator: Enemy of My Enemy #5 is an engaging piece of fiction that had some rough edges but the overall package never failed to keep my attention. Skynet would be one proud poppa as this comic built on the back of a struggling cybernetic organism does what it needs to do in this its penultimate issue. Recommended.
