The official description from Marvel:

REVIVAL!
• One of the most defining stories in the ULTIMATE UNIVERSE explodes in a way no one saw coming!
• Only one of the two ULTIMATE SPIDER-MANS shall rise!

Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man #5 previewMiles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man has sent us on one strange ride since it started, seeing the return of old villains, and having us questioning whether the Ultimate Peter Parker has returned. Though we don’t get answers to this question here, the issue does hint that we will soon get some, with the interaction between “Peter” and Miles feeling very enticing.

Brian Michael Bendis has been the man behind Ultimate Spider-man since it launched way back in 2000, and over the course of four series he’s still going strong. Though there’s a part of me that wants the whole “Peter Parker” scenario to be put to rest, one way or another, the tension that he builds does keep the excitement levels high. In addition he also teased more from the Spider-Men like robbers, with there being more proof that the Ultimate version of J. Jonah Jameson isn’t like the 616 version.

David Marquez continues to astound with his mind blowing artwork. Though Ultimate Spider-Man has seen amazing artists after another, I feel Marquez has proved to be top of the pile, with his beautifully detailed art being extremely eye catching. Marquez also as ever gives energetic layouts, with the wide intro allowing for a tense start to this issues. In addition to this, colorist Justin Ponsor as ever delivers a fanatic finish to Marquez’ art, with his sleek palette allowing for that extra layer of depth.

Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man continues to be the must read Ultimate series, as though I kind of want the “Peter Parker” scenario to conclude, the tense developments allow for an exciting read. Highly recommended.
