The official description from Dark Horse:

After landing on LV-223, a recovery crew uncovers the fate of the Prometheus’s doomed mission—and a horror unlike anything known to man!

Prometheus Fire and Stone #2 previewI can’t help but feel that Fire and Stone has been handled in a slightly awkward way, as though the event itself has captured my interest throughout, the timeline leaves a lot to be desired. What brought me to this conclusion was last weeks Alien vs. Predator: Fire and Stone #1, as due to it being set after this series it kind of takes the excitement out of who will die. Taking that out of the equation however, and this issue proves a solid continuation from the first.

Paul Tobin marches our group into the lions den… or should I say Alien’s lair? Either way he manages to follow-up from last issue enticing cliffhanger brilliantly, with the Xenomorph attack being very exciting and almost chilling. Tobin also gives both brilliant references to Prometheus, and the events that are happening in Aliens: Fire and Stone, with the latter making me reflect on the timeline. Despite this there were parts of the tale that felt a little disjointed, with it at times feeling all over the place.

Juan Ferreyra‘s artwork is as awesome as it was the first time round, with the Colder artist giving an almost cinematic like vibe throughout. The way that his smooth panels capture the emotion, both panic and distaste, really comes across well, adding a dramatic overtone to this gripping tale. Despite all this it’s still the mixture of scenery and Xenomorphs that appeal to me the most, with the artist capturing the pure essence of these chilling creatures. His colours also add another layer of tension to this tale, with Eduardo Ferreyra giving a wonderful assist.

Prometheus: Fire and Stone continues to capture my interest, as though the outcome has been a little compromised, the story still has a lot to offer. It also has some intense scenes, with the character interaction being amazing throughout. Recommended.
