The official description from Dark Horse:

When a godless mercenary war band discovers an ancient and bizarre piece of alien technology, they find themselves enlisted in the violent conflict against cosmic demon invaders!

dkages4p1Okay, so the last issue had an impending group of demons coming to take down our hero’s, which seemed like  a problem because the group didn’t know how to really kill the demons but due to this alien technology that hasbecome a mentor, they learn the weakness of the demons, which is really specific. It is really interesting because you would that without this giant reveal no one would ever be able to defeat the demons because it is so specific. Along with this, we have an idea of some treachery between the people that we are rooting for but that doesn’t fully get explained but I would keep that in the back of your mind. Also, we see some people that we have come to learn as good turn into possessed creatures and we are not sure how that will play out either. It is a very cool idea and a lot happens that works.

Dan Abnett is  a really interesting writer. This whole story is not a traditional comic book but with some odd tone that I can’t really place. It isn’t bad or anything just an odd feeling. Along with this, you have a crazy amount that happens in this issue and it distracts because you’re wondering where it is going and you’re not into the actual comic.

I. N. J. Culbard is a fantastic artist. It reminds me of comic book meets cartoon by the look of it. It is also very bold and works for what the writer is trying to accomplish.

Dark Ages #4 has a problem but, overall, works well.
