The official description from Dynamite:

For years, the Green Hornet has been battling criminals and saboteurs and winning by the skin of his teeth. But now his luck’s run out–because this new foe is one who was created by the Hornet himself!

Green Hornet #11 variantGreen Hornet has been one of Dynamite’s best series over the last few years but it has been this current series that has really elevated the character. This however is the best issue that I’ve read yet and the first that I can’t find any fault with whatsoever as though all the previous issues have been enjoyable I can usually find the tiniest of flaws in them. I can’t however do so with this has it proves to be intense, dramatic and ultimately shocking.

Mark Waid shows just why he’s one of the best writers in the industry today and that all there’s a reason why his series’ have won so many awards over the years. The way that Waid takes the Green Hornet back to basics forgetting about foes or nemesis is what has ultimately made this issue in particular stand out. Waid also gives us gripping dialogue that helps the story flow smoothly, giving a dramatic tone to the events. On top of this I also loved how he handled the characters with Dugan’s development and Casey’s hands on involvement being really enjoyable to see.

Ronilson Freire also produces some of his best art yet and I hope he never leaves this series. The sheer detail and realism of his work is truly captivating, allowing the reader to get further immersed into the story. Besides the realism it has to be the way that Freire handles the facial expressions that appeals to me the most, with the intensity helping to set the ever changing tone of this series. He also gives us some extremely smooth layouts which are also unique and dynamic. Added to this Mácio Menyz also yet again gives a tremendous finish to Freire’s art with his colours being very vibrant and vivid.

If you’ve been enjoying the series so far then you’ll be in for a treat as Waid and Freire produce the best issue of the series yet, giving dramatic and shocking twists as well as a lot of exciting. Highly recommended.
