Five Weapons #9 Review

Will Enrique save Dennis and finally find the person who poisoned the Nurse? Read on to find out.

Five Weapons second arc is nearing it’s conclusion with Enrique unravelling the mystery behind who poisoned the Nurse. The story moves on from last issues gripping climax very suddenly though maked up straight away by moving into a suspenseful and gripping series of developments.

Jimmie Robinson continues to amaze me with his dramatic and suspenseful tale of mystery as though Five Weapons may not be the most exciting or energetic of series it is one of the most intriguing. What I love most about Robinson’s writing is how he handles the detective work and revelations with Enrique’s explanations having a Sherlock Holmes feel about them. On top of this Robinson also gives us a terrific altercation between Enrique and Tyler as well as a breathtaking climax.

Seldom do you get a writer/artist that produces fantastic material on both fronts as though I can name a fair few there are many more that fail at one aspect or the other. Robinson luckily manages to excel on both aspects with his astonishing artwork complimenting the dramatic tone of his script perfectly. His dynamic layouts along with the emotional and dramatic facial expressions he produces add a terrific atmosphere to the issue enhancing the suspense as well. Along with this Paul Little also once again delivers vivid and vibrant colours, giving a wonderful finish to Robinson’s art.

Five Weapons Back to Class is nearing it’s conclusion with this issue giving us amazing development as well as more intriguing questions. Highly recommended.
