Punks the Comic #2 Review

Punks the comic is losing me quite fast. What I thought was a fun and odd take on the weirdest things imaginable has really turned me off. Read more to find out more.

Hold on. We’re still publishing this? I thought we were just screwing around, and, now, what? We’re publishing this thing AGAIN? Just tell me there’s less groin punching this time…please?

Punks02-Page1-093eeThe description above is exactly the way that I feel about this issue. It has a lot of problems and I am not entirely sure why it got published. Image comics has never been a company to let me down but now I will say that I disappointed. The issue is very hard to explain. It is split up into two different stories that have similar themes of aliens. The first one deals with Dog being replaced with an alien figure and the characters seem to like this version of Dog better, even though he urinates all over the place. Yes, urine plays a very important role of this comic. Then, we get another story about Abe see an alien and needing to help stop it but instead he and his roommates get into a fight. It is really an odd issue that I have lost patients for and it is only the second issue.

Joshua Hale Fialkov is someone I feel watched the show “Tim and Eric” and thought that it would work as a comic, which it doesn’t. It is very odd and doesn’t have a through story, even within the smaller stories. It is just a mess. That is my biggest problem, some of the comics I read are a mess but they are a fun and interesting mess. I was really just completely out of it while I was reading.

Kody Chamberlain is a very unique artist. I would say that I find the art the best part because it is different and plays with dark colors very well. I do like this part of the comic.

Punks the comic is an odd mess that isn’t enjoyable.
