PREVIEW: SUPERMAN #32 by Geoff Johns and John Romita Jr.

The first previews images for Geoff Johns’ and John Romita Jr.’s upcoming run on Superman were just released by Entertainment Weekly today.

The day every Superman fan has been waiting for can’t come any sooner – the day Scott Lobdell leaves the writing duties for the Superman books to virtually anyone else but him (hopefully forever).

Geoff Johns and John Romita Jr.’s re-imagining of the Superman character comes at a much needed time where Superman, among other characters, has been Lobdell-ized beyond recognition.

Comics journalism has been all worked up about Michael Bay ruining childhood memories with his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, but the issue they have been forgetting about and should have really focused on was Scott Lobdell’s writing on Superman, Superboy, Teen Titans and Red Hood and the Outlaws, month-to-month.

Geoff Johns and Romita Jr. already outdid Scott Lobdell’s entire run just by featuring a giant Kryptonite-powered gorilla named Titano.
