Marvel’s The Human Fly is going to get a movie?

Until today I had never heard of the Human Fly, apparently he’s a superhero or was a superhero that hasn’t been around in over thirty years.  How he ended up getting optioned for a movie I don’t know, but apparently it’s in development.  It even has a director, writer and producers attached to it.

SuperHeroHype described the character’s origin like this:

The Human Fly was a stuntman who after suffering a horrific accident went through several reconstructive surgeries where much of his skeleton was replaced with steel. He then used his abilities to perform special stunts and tricks for charities but often ran into criminal activites due to his daredevil antics.

There is no release date for the movie but it’s set to be directed by Steven Goldman with a screenplay by Tony Babinski.  The production will be produced by Alan Brewer and James Reach.

What do you guys think?  Does this C-list character really need or deserve a movie?  Does this mean the Human Fly is going to suddenly pop back up in the Marvel universe?  Only time will tell, until then sound off with your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
