Judge Dredd: Anderson PSI-Division #2 Review

Before she became Judge Dredd’s sidekick and more, Judge Anderson was a bad ass and that is where we get the newest issue of the awesome spin off

In an all-new adventure from Cassandra Anderson’s early days in Psi-Division, writer Matt Smith and artist Carl Critchlow present “King of the Six Sectors.” The theft of Cursed Earth artifacts has led Anderson deep into the swamplands near Texas City, where she grapples with mutant creatures and a heart of darkness… Plus, Judge Dredd!

I love Judge Anderson; she is one of my favorite characters because she has this bad ass STK648247mentality and has some pretty sweet powers, so when they said they were going to delve more into Judge Anderson’s world, I was stoked. I wasn’t disappointed with the first issue and I really wasn’t with this issue as well. With Anderson trying to figure out the thief and motives behind the taking of artifacts, it leads her into a scary place. It is interesting to explore the world a little more because we see a new place that are drawn so vividly and well that you will feel like you are in cursed earth.   It is a really great continuation and a fun look at Anderson.

Matt Smith is doing everything right with this series. He is staying true to the characters and really is working hard on highlighting a character with so much to offer. It is really fantastic. The other thing I like is that he is delving harder into the mythology of Anderson and her powers, which is great.

Carl Critchlow is keeping up well with Smith’s writing. He creates worlds and atmospheres that add a dynamic to the issue. He is vivid and careful with every picture that is seen. You will have to appreciate the detail that is seen.

Judge Anderson is a total badass that knows what is up.
