Judge Dredd #19 Review

So much has happened to Dredd while trying to save his beloved city, but is it time that our Judge falls or will he succeed in saving Mega City One? Read on to find out more.

“The American Way of Death, part 3”-The Hall of Justice has fallen. Sector 1 has been overrun by Judge Death and his cronies. The Chief Justice and Council of Five contemplate a desperate course of action that would have been unthinkable just a few days ago-yet now seems like the only sane choice in a world gone mad. But who’s this walking through the ruins, clutching his Lawgiver and sentencing Death to you-know-what? Listen up, creeps-it’s never over until Dredd says it’s over!

Okay so we have a lot to cover and not much space and I have to say that this issue is awesome. There is gloom and doom hanging over JDredd-19-pr-1-911b3Judge Dredd and Mega City One because of Judge Death. However, we learn that it really isn’t over till Dredd says it’s over because he kicks some major ass this issue. Every panel is a new twist and turn and a light is brought upon the city that we have seen decimated by the evil of the worlds. Now there is an interesting moment between the Chief Justice and the Council of Five. It is very neat to see what desperation can do to people especially ones of such esteem. The only problem that I have is that this issue is a little too busy for its own good. There is a lot going on in this issue as it tries to start to wrap up that I am not sure that it will work. However, regardless the writing on this issue is spot on.

The art is a highlight in this issue because of the color contrasts that occur. It is a very dark issue because of the circumstances but with certain characters , the colors change to show hope and adds a nice dynamic.

Judge Dredd #19 is a great addition to the series even though it is a little too busy.
